In Skopelos island at Alikias area, two cottage stone houses, dating back to 1904, were purchased by new owners for major restoration.

This restoration project brings new life to two historic stone cottages in the Alikias area on Skopelos Island, dating back to 1904. The design strategy emphasizes respectful preservation of the original stone fabric and integration with the natural topography, reorganizing the two buildings to create fluid and direct connections between interior living areas and external courtyards that follow the landscape’s natural inclination. Structural reinforcement and careful use of natural materials reinforce the architectural identity while improving functionality and comfort. The intervention celebrates the vernacular character of the Sporades while adapting the houses for contemporary use
